You’ll need

Make it

  1. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion.
  2. Cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking the beef into small pieces, until it is browned and has reached 160°F. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Stir in the potatoes, beef broth, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the broth to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring once or twice.
  5. When the potatoes are nearly tender, stir in the frozen green beans. Cover and cook for another 5–7 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning. If you are using cheese, sprinkle it over the skillet, cover, and let it melt for 1–2 minutes.
No green beans? Frozen broccoli, peas, corn, or a mixed vegetable blend will work too. Use what you already have.
